Upon hearing that Li An and Sun Jingjing had returned, Yan Luoxi was startled and inwardly cursed her bad luck. She instinctively wanted to hide somewhere but Li An and Sun Jingjing had already walked in.

Xue Liping greeted them with a smile. "Jingjing, Young Master An, you're back!"

Yan Luoxi steeled herself and followed behind with small steps, watching as Li An leaned casually against the door. She couldn't help but recall how he had attempted to push her off the upper floor a few days ago; goosebumps rose on the back of her neck.

"Yes, Young Master An just took me out for dinner and then dropped me off." Sun Jingjing said proudly, her eyes landing on Yan Luoxi who was following Xue Liping. She glanced at the sumptuous dishes laid out not far away before she smiled mysteriously and called out to Yan Luoxi: "Luoxi is here!"

"Yes." Feeling belittled by Sun Jingjing's look, Yan Luoxi straightened up and replied.

Xue Liping didn't pay much attention to how Sun Jingjing treated Yan Luoxi; instead, she warmly invited Li An, who was standing by the door as if he was about to leave: "Young Master An, why don’t you come in for a while Have some tea!"

Why invite him in when he's trying to leave Yan Luoxi clenched her teeth inwardly and wished she could kick her mom.

Li An glanced toward Yan Luoxi, narrowing his eyes slightly. His dark, deep-set eyes were like polished obsidian, gleaming with an eerie light that flickered away in an instant, hidden from sight.

This single glance was enough to make Yan Luoxi's blood run cold.

Li An then pulled a friendly smile at Xue Liping. "I didn’t eat much outside just now; if it’s not too much trouble for you, may I join you all for dinner"

Xue Liping didn't expect Li An to be so approachable and down-to-earth. She hurriedly invited him inside, but Sun Jingjing hadn’t anticipated that Li An would agree to stay, and she broke into a smile.

Cherish life, keep away from Li An!

Yan Luoqi remembered the painful lesson from last time and, taking advantage of Sun Jingjing's cheerful invitation for Li An to head to the living room, pulled her mother’s flaxen shirt and whispered, "Mom, I still have some things at home. May I leave now" Then she looked pitifully at Xue Liping.

Xue Liping remembered the unfortunate consequences when she had forced Yan Luoqi to stay last time; although somewhat unwilling this time, she reluctantly agreed, saying, "Just wait a moment, and I’ll arrange for the driver to take you."

But Li An’s ears were incredibly sharp. He turned around casually and said, “Didn’t Miss Yan want to stay for dinner Did she leave because of my arrival If that is so, then I won't be eating here.”

Sun Jingjing shot a sharp glance at him.

Yan Luoqi sat by the dining table helplessly, her eyes avoiding Li An’s gaze and feeling as if she had been struck with a drumstick inside. She was shivering in fear.

Fortunately, Li An didn’t look at her; even when their gazes met accidentally, he pretended not to notice.

Yan Luoqi breathed a sigh of relief, thinking that this rascal had indeed kept his promise this time—if she behaved herself and minded her own business, he would ignore her completely.

Li An dined elegantly and gracefully, occasionally chatting with Xue Liping and smiling at Sun Jingjing affectionately.

Sun Jingjing, whose lips had a hint of plum blossom, served Li An attentively as if she were the happiest girl in the world. She watched him smile and looked slightly bashful, like someone deeply in love.

The dishes on the table were delicious, but when they reached Yan Luoxi's mouth, they tasted as bland as chewing wax. To her silent prayers, this long-drawn-out meal finally came to an end.

After eating, as Yan Luoxi walked into the living room, she heard strong winds blowing outside. She went to the window and looked out; it was overcast and clearly a heavy rainstorm was on its way.

What great timing!

She immediately used the impending rain as an excuse to bid farewell to Sun Jingjing and Li An, then requested to leave from her mother. Xue Liping once again offered to arrange for their driver to take Yan Luoxi home.

"Auntie, there's no need to trouble with arranging a driver. It’s going to rain outside, I don’t want to stay here long anyway. I can leave now and conveniently drop off Miss Luoxi on the way," Li An suggested enthusiastically.

Yan Luoxi was startled by his smile, "No need for any trouble, I’ll just take a taxi." She nervously refused.

"Let's go together. It’s so dark outside; it won’t be easy to hail a cab," Li An glanced sharply at Yan Luoxi, his demeanor subtle yet intimidating, completely different from the pleasant disposition he had earlier during dinner.

Yan Luoxi remembered his previous warning and immediately became compliant, nodding obediently.

Sun Jingjing stood to one side without commenting when she heard they were leaving together.

Xue Liping smiled as she turned her eyes and thanked him.

Before stepping out the door, Li An bent down to peck Sun Jingjing on the forehead. She immediately beamed with gratitude.

Yan Luoxi and Li An went out, only to find that it was indeed going to rain outside; the sky was dark with cool wind blowing fiercely, and distant thunder rumbled.

When Yan Luoxi got into the car with a pale face, Li An kept smiling kindly at her, seemingly harboring some huge conspiracy that made her regretful then and there.

Sitting in Li An’s car, Yan Luoxi pressed herself tightly to one side of the door, keeping as much distance from Li An as possible.

Seeing how she was avoiding him like he had a contagious disease, Li An felt annoyed. He turned his head and lightly sneered at her: "Idiot, in this kind of weather, you still want to take a taxi It’s rainy with thunderstorms; perfect for certain perverted people to commit crimes. Huhu, give you one hundred chances of being raped and murdered first, then abandoned in the wilderness, chopped into pieces..."

Yan Luoxi was chilled by his words, her stomach turned over, and she glared angrily at Li An, turning completely red due to the tense atmosphere.

Li An’s eyes twinkled mischievously as he smiled brightly, stretching out his long arm casually and lightly raking across Yan Luoxi’s small face. "Heh, your complexion looks good today! Your cheeks are all rosy!"

Yan Luoxi shook her head vigorously to quickly get away from that sinful big hand of his, then turned to look out the window and ignored Li An.

Li An smiled amiably a couple of times without further provoking her, driving leisurely.

Seeing rain starting to fall outside, Yan Luoxi grew anxious; at this rate, they would never get home before midnight. She really shouldn’t have gotten into this guy’s car out of fear.

The sound of thunder rumbled from outside the window. Soon after, the rain poured down in sheets, hitting the car with a sharp clatter that was much fiercer than usual raindrops.

Yan Luoxi became truly worried and couldn’t help but turn her head to grumble softly, "The rain is about to get heavier; can you drive faster"!Upon hearing He Yufan's words, Lian didn't respond immediately but tapped his long fingers lightly on the tabletop while thoughtfully observing Yan Luoxi as she was about to gnaw at another piece of...
