ion and said softly, "Li An, I'm sorry!"Stimulated by Shao Junhe’s words, Li An's eyes narrowed slightly. He smiled dismissively, "You owe me nothing. It was I who abandoned Yan Luoxi back then; I did...Chapter 94: For a Lifetime, One Couple

The restaurant manager secretly observed the expression of Young Master Li. This young man was indeed exceptionally handsome; his dark eyes were deep and captivating, and his sensuous lips curved slightly upwards, indicating that he was in a good mood.

Sigh, with such an excellent appearance and born into such a distinguished family, even if this young master were destitute, simply placing him as decoration at the restaurant would make countless people eager to have him.

Lian had no interest in pondering the manager's thoughts. He obediently followed Yan Luoxi’s suggestion and ordered three dishes with one soup, pairing them with local sweet mountain rice wine. This meal was truly satisfying.

After finishing their meal, the two of them left the hotel. The drizzle outside had stopped, and the air felt exceptionally fresh. Yan Luoxi spread her arms and gracefully twirled around, gazing at the sky with excitement as she exclaimed, "Second Brother, don't you think this should be considered 'After the rain on an empty mountain'"

"The weather turns cool in late autumn; the moon shines through the pines; clear springs flow over stones. Bamboo rustles as washerwomen return and lotus moves as fishermen’s boats go downriver. The spring flowers may fade but who cares I could stay here forever." Lian continued Yan Luoxi's words, reciting the poem fluently.

"Wow, Second Brother, you actually remember it all!" Yan Luoxi was amazed and curious.

"What do you mean by that It really hurts me!" Lian made a face as if he were deeply hurt.

Yan Luoxi laughed heartily, repeatedly saying, "I didn’t mean to belittle you. I just thought someone like you wouldn't recite poetry."

Lì An held Yán Luoxi's hand and walked along a country path, speaking somewhat solemnly: "You've always been like this; since childhood, you never cared about me. You didn't see my strengths, or if you did, you treated them as weaknesses."

Yán Luoxi felt ashamed. Lì An was right; over the years, no matter what he said or did, she had never taken him seriously nor acknowledged his feelings.

Lì An reached out to pat Yán Luoxi's head and turned to face her: "Little Simpleton, you don't need to blame yourself. You didn’t care about anything I did in the past, but now being by my side is wonderful. Let’s walk together through this green mountain range and white clouds, destined to be a pair for life!"

A flicker of movement stirred Yán Luoxi's heart as she looked up at Lì An's handsome face, with clear features and deep-set eyes. She was captivated by the depth of emotion in his gaze; her heart fluttered in response.

She had thought that she could only love Zhōu Guangtao for life, that he alone could bring her happiness. But these days since being with Lì An, she had also lived very happily.

Lì An too could be considerate and gentle towards her, allowing her to live a simple and free life.

Seeing Yán Luoxi simply staring at him, looking lost in thought and not responding, Lì An grew slightly anxious. He gently pinched her cheek: "Little Fool, I'm waiting for your answer. Shall we walk like this until the end of our lives"

A life-long pair!

How wonderful it sounded, especially with a man so brilliant standing right before her.

The man in front of her was handsome to a point where he didn't seem like an ordinary person. The afterglow of the sunset filtered through the gaps between the leaves, casting a golden hue around him, making him look like a deity from heaven.

Yan Luoxi felt that if she agreed to him, it would be a desecration of this wonderful man. Her lips moved slightly, and her voice was unexpectedly gentle: "Second Brother, can you give me some more time I want to clean up every corner of my heart first so that I can accept you with a completely new self; otherwise, it wouldn't be fair to you."

Lǐ n was already overjoyed upon hearing these words from Yan Luoxi. He stroked her little face and said, "It's fine, take your time thinking about it, I'll wait patiently. There's no rush; we have our entire lifetime anyway."

Yan Luoxi smiled sweetly and couldn't help but reach out to hug Lǐ n's arm, her head gently resting on his shoulder.

In the distance came the sounds of roosters crowing and dogs barking. Breathing in the fresh air, she suddenly felt a sense of holding hands with someone and growing old together.

Though she said that she needed to think about it, in reality, she had already started to like this lively Lǐ n no matter how much he hid from her or whatever tricks he played on her before.

The next morning, Yan Luoxi woke up very early because she was looking forward to going mountain climbing with Lǐ n. Opening the window, she could hear the distant crowing of roosters and smiled happily as she ran into the bathroom for washing and grooming.

After finishing her wash-up, Yan Luoxi rummaged through her luggage case looking for clothes needed for mountain climbing.

All these items were ordered on Lǐ n's behalf before they left. All outdoor stores had been contacted, from mountaineering suits to backpacks and water bottles.

Looking at the conspicuous labels on the clothes, Yan Luoxi smiled and poked them with her fingers. After all these years, Li An's love for brand names and his pickiness about what he wears haven't changed. Perhaps he will also be so devoted to her.

Yan Luoxi put on the sports wear from an international luxury brand that Li An had chosen for her. She tied up her long hair into a ponytail, looked in the mirror and thought she wasn’t too bad. This time walking around with Li An, she wouldn't look inferior.

Li An came over to call Yan Luoxi down from upstairs. When she saw him wearing a simple black hiking suit paired with white T-shirt, and sunglasses perched on the bridge of his nose, he looked dazzling no matter how you looked at it.

She felt somewhat dispirited when she compared herself to him. With Li An around, no matter how she dressed up, she would still look like a vendor selling roasted sweet potatoes. Her boyfriend was much more handsome than her, so for the rest of her life, she could only resign herself to being his green leaf.

Li An took Yan Luoxi to the restaurant for breakfast and put all the water and food that he had prepared in a backpack on his back. Seeing the empty travel bag hanging from her shoulders, Yan Luoxi felt embarrassed. She strongly protested until Li An placed two packets of puffed-up potato chips and a bottle of mineral water into her bag.

The two of them set off towards Wuzhishan Mountain in the morning mist. A thin layer of fog seemed to have wrapped around the mountain forests like a white gauzy veil, floating gently around the green trees. The scenery looked enchanting and dreamlike. Yan Luoxi was eager to explore this beautiful landscape.

After entering Wuzhishan Mountain with immense excitement, Yan Luoxi found that the roads here were extremely narrow, with entangled tree roots on both sides of the road. Large leaves spread out on the branches and pressed against each other, as if the canopies would fall at any moment.

The mountain paths were littered with tree roots, and after a light rain yesterday, the roads were muddy and slippery. Yan Luoxi had always lived in big cities and had no experience walking on such a road; she stumbled along, taking one step forward and another back.

Seeing this, Li An quickly reached out to hold her hand and took over her small backpack as well. Under his guidance, Yan Luoxi felt that the way up the mountain became much easier.ly tasted quite good; the broth was delicious too. If the noodles were a bit softer and more slippery, it would be the most delectable meal in the world."This little girl is truly an admirable person,...
