tarted, no one could control its course. It was like a river flowing eastward unstoppable. Once the events between Yan Luoxi and Li An were exposed, there would be no going back for anyone or anything...Chapter 92: Life After the Disaster - Wuyou Chinese Network
Sao Meizhu, who was sobbing with disheveled hair, hurriedly followed Sao Junher to the doctor's side upon seeing this scene. She wanted to know about Li An's condition right away.
Although the situation was dangerous this time, fortunately, Li An’s car itself had good performance and had been deliberately modified by him later on. Sitting in the driver's seat, he didn't get injured in his arms or legs; only his head suffered a blow that left an open wound, causing him to have some concussion.
Upon hearing this result, Ming Zixi, Sao Meizhu and others all breathed a heavy sigh of relief.
Li An felt as if he were trapped in the depths of the ocean, struggling for breath. He nearly suffocated but tried his best to breathe. Suddenly exerting himself, he opened his eyes.
He found everything around him was stark white, with sunlight streaming through the window. A nurse wearing a mask was adjusting the drip rate beside his bed and looked at him in amazement when she saw his eyes open.
"Oh my little precious one, you finally woke up. Last night after drinking so much alcohol, you still went out to drive a car; are you really not wanting to live anymore, or do you want to kill us all... Fortunately, nothing serious happened, otherwise how can I explain it to Uncle Li and the others..."
Before Li An could fully understand what was going on, Ming Zixi started his incessant chatter right beside him. When Li An turned his eyes slightly, he saw Ming Zixi's bearded face with bloodshot eyes.
He blankly stared at Ming Zixi, trying to recall what happened last night. He had drunk too much and was suffering from intermittent amnesia, so some things were unclear.
"You're such a troublesome child, why do you always make me worry You drank so much without telling me and just drove off..." Upon seeing Li An finally awake, Ming Zixi, who was initially excited and rambling, noticed Li An's vacant look and became somewhat scared. "Hey, do you still know me If you don't, then tell me what time it is!"
Ming Zixi held up two fingers in front of Li An's eyes, as the doctor said that this car accident caused the most serious injury to Li An was a mild concussion. He mustn’t have been hit so hard he became dumb or forgot everything, otherwise there would be no one to play with him anymore!
Li An frowned in annoyance and said, "Move your dog paw away!" He suddenly spoke up, his voice hoarse.
"Alright, you can still curse. It seems like the hit didn't make you dumb." Ming Zixi happily chuckled, with a hint of red around his eyes.
“What's my situation now” Li An had by this time recalled some events from last night and realized he was driving under the influence when the accident happened. He tried moving his limbs to see if they were injured. Luckily, they all seemed to be fine.
"You should count yourself lucky. No disabilities or broken bones, just a few scratches. The worst injury is on your head; you got a cut and had five stitches. There's also some mild concussion, but don't think about faking it with me! I won’t buy any of that!" Ming Zixi warned Li An in a way that lacked intimidation.
Li An closed his eyes in relief, feeling like he'd narrowly escaped something terrible. Fortunately, he hadn’t left himself with any lasting issues; otherwise, searching for Yan Luoxi everywhere would be even more difficult.
Ming Zixi saw Li An wake up and in good condition, so he finally relaxed after a night of worry. He lay down on the nearby couch and said, "Now I'll leave you to the pretty nurse, Miss. I'm dead tired; I need some sleep."
Upon hearing Ming Zixi say that Li An would be in her care, the nurse blushed slightly but looked pleased as she bent over to ask Li An gently, "Mr. Li, are you thirsty Would you like a sip of water"
Li An nodded lightly; he didn’t speak this time around since his sudden outburst earlier had caused a sharp pain in his cheeks.
"Okay." The nurse poured the water for Li An and seeing that he was having trouble moving, she fed him with a small spoon.
Since Li An’s arm was injured and moving hurt badly, he let her feed him two sips of water.
The nurse was in the process of feeding Li An when the door to the ward suddenly opened. Shao Meizhu burst into the room with messy hair and puffy red eyes. She saw the nurse feeding Li An and shouted loudly, "Witch! What are you doing What have you given him to drink"
The loud shout startled the nurse, causing her to tremble. The water in Li An’s mouth went down his windpipe, causing him to cough uncontrollably; he felt as if every part of his body was tearing apart with pain. Ming Zixi, who had just dozed off, jumped awake.
Shao Meizhu rushed over to Li An's bedside and snatched the cup and spoon from the nurse’s hands, shrieking, "There is nothing for you here! Get out!" After a night of anguish, her voice was hoarse.
Seeing Shao Meizhuo's menacing appearance, the nurse was frightened. Even though she found him attractive, her life still mattered more to her, so she obediently ran out of Li An’s ward.
Li An’s complexion was already pale; now he looked ashen after being angered. He clutched his chest with one hand to prevent the whole body from shaking due to coughing and pointed at Shao Meizhuo with the other hand, saying, "Who sent you here Get out! Leave!!!"
Qixi Mingzi hurriedly stood up from where he was resting, reached out his hand to hold down Li An who was agitated in bed, and worried that Li An might jump out of the bed to fight with Shao Meizhuo. "Li An, what are you saying Meizhuo means well; she’s been worried about you. She stayed up all night watching over you last night and just went downstairs to buy breakfast!"
Then Qixi Mingzi turned around to comfort the haggard-looking Shao Meizhuo, "Meizhuo, don’t take Li An seriously; he’s ill and being sensitive."
No one knew what kind of relationship these two archenemies had in their previous life that they would clash so strongly in this lifetime.
This time Shao Meizhuo did not argue with Li An, nor did she quarrel with him; instead, she stood quietly beside his bed as if she had caused some trouble. "Li An, the way you were yesterday made me think... I thought..." She was so upset that tears welled up in her eyes, but out of face-saving, she held back from letting them fall.
Seeing Shao Meizhuo look so vulnerable before him for the first time, Li An felt slightly relieved. In fact, despite all their quarrels over the years, he still had some class feelings towards Shao Meizhuo; hence, he could afford to be magnanimous and turned his head away from her.
Disturbed by Shao Meizhuo’s interference, Qixi Mingzi was no longer sleepy; instead, he became alert. He asked Li An, "Considering this big commotion you’ve caused, do you want me to inform your boss"n’t very sensible.""Everyone is equal before love; you’ve already given me over ten years of your life, it’s unnecessary to continue yielding to me." Li An looked out the window with a forlorn express...
