Lian lay quietly in bed, his face pale and eyes tightly closed. Various monitoring devices were connected to different parts of his body, emitting slight beeping sounds. Even so, it did not detract from his extraordinary image that captivated all who saw him. At this moment, he seemed like a prince from a fairy tale world, enchanted by a spell, sleeping while awaiting the rescue of his beloved.

Shao Meizhu sat in her wheelchair, with red-rimmed eyes as she looked at Lian, whose eyes were tightly shut. She gently moved aside a strand of hair covering his forehead and asked worriedly, "Brother, the doctor said that Lian has concussion. Do you think he might forget who I am after waking up"

"Then the world will finally be at peace!" Shao Junhe had an expression as if it couldn't have been better.

Shao Meizhu shot her brother a fierce glance and turned to see Yan Luoxi returning. A sense of danger arose, and she jealously rolled her big eyes. Seeing Ming Zichen by his side, she didn’t feel like doing anything haphazardly but instead smiled sweetly as she handed a bottle of mineral water to Yan Luoxi. Yan Luoxi was pleasantly surprised to receive it and thanked him softly.

Shao Junhe knew his little sister well; he understood that she was the evil stepmother in Snow White, and would never have any good intentions. Seeing her voluntarily offering water to Yan Luoxi made him nervous, really fearing that his sister might poison the bottle of mineral water.

"Luoxi, are you hungry Since it looks like Lian won't wake up anytime soon, why don’t we go out for some late-night snacks" Shao Meizhu suggested with a smile, though her cold gaze revealed no warmth or friendliness whatsoever.

Yan Luoxi knew that Shao Meizhu had something to say to him. Since she had accepted his money but hadn’t helped her at all, dodging wasn't an option either. He simply nodded decisively in agreement.

"I didn't feel hungry until Mei Zhuo mentioned it, and now I do too," Ming Zixi clapped his hands playfully and said bossily: "Alright then, I'll take you guys out to eat. Big Brother will stay here and watch Li An. When we come back, Big Brother can go home with Sister-in-law. As for people like Tian Tian and Mei Zhuo, he can drop you off on the way."

"I think this is a good idea. I'm also hungry. Come on, let's go eat together," Shao Junhe smoothly defused the situation and showed his approval through action, pushing her wheelchair toward the door regardless of her sister's expression.

Yan Luoxi, who was as docile as a little white rabbit, would never be a match for Shao Junhe, who didn't want to give them an opportunity to be alone together.

Suffering from being unable to move her legs, Shao Meizhuo could only let her brother push her away with her face turning as purple as eggplant. "Brother, Dad will call me tomorrow. Do you think I should tell him about my leg injury" she asked in a threatening tone.

"Sure, it's up to you!" Shao Junhe responded amicably, "You caused trouble at Li An's company during the day and he ended up crashing into a tree for no apparent reason in the afternoon. Dad might assume that such 'suicidal' behavior is due to some kind of mental stimulus."

Shao Meizhuo was speechless with anger, knowing her parents would never condone any action that harmed Li An, even if they spoiled her otherwise. This was something she couldn't explain clearly.

This brother of hers usually seemed kind and easy to bully, but when it came down to it, he was the one most likely to stab you in the back.

They didn’t go far from the hospital and found a congee restaurant. It being so late, there were few customers inside, making Shao Meizhuo's mood gloomy and Wu Tian Tian worried. Shao Junhe kept glancing at Yan Luoxi with eyes full of desire that seemed about to overflow.

Ming Zixi became even more delighted upon seeing Shao Junhe's expression. He enjoyed complicated situations, especially when he could watch others' emotional turmoil; he never feared any trouble.

Ming Zixi acted like he had taken a stimulant, constantly goading Yan Luoxi into conversation.

Yan Luoxi was clever; she wouldn't fall for Ming Zixi's tricks. After years of being tormented by Li An, she knew that remaining silent was the safest option when dealing with people like them. Whenever Ming Zixi pushed her to a breaking point, she would swallow a spoonful of porridge and pretend to be choking, staring at him resentfully.

Ming Zixi blinked his shrewd eyes as he watched Yan Luoxi slurping on the porridge thoughtfully. This little girl had some backbone; despite all his smooth talk, she remained unresponsive. No wonder Li An was driven to take drastic measures and run into that large locust tree!

The late-night snack ended with Ming Zixi's incessant chatter. The group returned to the hospital room just as Li An woke up again.

Li An didn't see Yan Luoxi trailing behind them, and seeing the greasy faces of Ming Zixi and Shao Junhe made him furious. With his cracked lips slightly parted, he cursed, "Have you guys lost your minds I'm in this state, and you still have time for snacks"

Ming Zixi chuckled and pointed at Yan Luoxi following behind them, saying, “Don’t be so quick to scold others! We’ve got something delicious for you too!”

Yan Luoxi didn't dare get too close to Li An; she held out the food box as if presenting a precious gift from afar.

"You're so immoral!" Li An's mood instantly improved when he saw Yan Luoxi, even though Ming Zixing was maliciously teasing him with food while he was too hungry to eat as an unfortunate patient.

"Hey," Ming Zixing stood gleefully at the head of Li An’s bed, bending over to look down at his face. "You seem so energetic today. Can you tell me why you suddenly decided to ram into that big locust tree Did it have a grudge against you in your previous life"

"Get lost!" After confirming that Yan Luoxi was on his left and Shao Junhe was on his right, Li An closed his eyes to avoid looking at Ming Zixing's annoying face. His pale cheeks flushed slightly due to the recent excitement, and his long eyelashes trembled gently, adding an extraordinary charm.

"Wait a minute," Ming Zichen chided his brother with a big-brotherly demeanor, "don’t provoke him; you might agitate his wound." He then said earnestly, "Li An, we haven't informed Uncle Li about this incident yet. Should we notify him"

"No! If my parents find out about this, I'll be in big trouble!" Li An suddenly opened his eyes and firmly rejected the idea. In a rush of anxiety, his chapped lips split open, and blood seeped out, causing him to hiss in pain.

Wu Tiantian hurriedly ran over to Li An with tiny steps, dabbing water on his mouth with a cotton swab. "Brother Li An, you must be thirsty! Please hold on just a little longer!" Her concern was evident on her face.

Shao Meizhuo also joined in, wheeling herself up to the side of Li An's bed and soothingly said, "Li An, I'll have someone buy some fresh fruit for you. We can make juice for you later."

Li An was just swallowing saliva due to his thirst when he heard her words; he choked in surprise but dared not cough, turning beet red as he covered his chest with the hand that could still move.
